About

Throughout this year, my research has been focused on the women’s sports industry. Covering lifestyle, wellness and fashion, I have been thorough in discovering out what is next for women in sports. It began with my dissertation titled Fit for the Future: Women’s Lifestyle, which explored the women's fitness lifestyle in depth, from influencers to case studies, no stone was left unturned in uncovering this trend. The significance of this research is that, before now the sportswear industry was male dominated and little consideration was made to target women in sports. Now however, women's sportswear is growing faster than any other sector with brands and retailers increasing what they offer to the female consumer. I concluded the dissertation with recommendations for further research and development. One of these was the need for specialist activewear for the older consumer as current sportswear offerings weren’t appealing to their needs. My final major project produced a solution to this by creating a specialist women’s sportswear range for women over 55 in collaboration with Lululemon. This included a full business plan, with financial considerations, operations, management, consumer profiles and competitor analysis. 360° Plan with branding, marketing strategy, breakdown of marketing competitors. Lastly, the product strategy which outlined the proposed range, with trend direction and product scrutiny.
